Katrina put as much as fifteen feet of water through parts of this community when the MRGO levee failed, and Meraux still has not returned to its pre-storm population. Nearly everything standing here today was rebuilt or gutted and restored after 2005, which means the HVAC systems went in during a narrow window and are aging on the same schedule. We see a lot of twenty-year-old equipment here that has had no major work done and is now failing all at once across the neighborhood. If yours dates to the rebuild, it is worth planning for rather than waiting for the August breakdown.
